What Customers Say About Sony SRF-59 FM/AM Radio Walkman with Sony MDR Headphones:

I'm stuck with it and now I need to buy another one. So, I have the gift back, ready to be sent back.too late. Not happy with this waste of money. I got this item for someone in the family that wanted one as a christmas gift. Of course, I found out that it didn't work properly, it has bad reception and it's almost impossible to hear a clear signal. Not good.

I like the sound that the head-phones produce and am generally very satisfied with the set. I like the Sony-59 very much. The Sony SFR-59 is a neat little pocket radio for my daily walks. I feel that the only problem with the radio that is that the tuner dial is so small that trying to adjust the dial for a new station is a little aggravating.

I'm thankful that the Sony Walkman is still being made. It's a great companion. I tried to find the same radio in stores, but couldn't find one, until I thought of Amazon.I use the Sony Walkman when I exercise at my gym. It is so lightweight that I can exercise without realizing it's hooked on me.It's very hard to find a radio these days because most people use I-pods. This is the second Sony Walkman that I bought. Unfortunately, I lost the plastic clasp that holds the batteries in place,on the first one. The batteries last a very long time and the way it is designed is excellent.

I like everything about it except the tuning. Trying to re-tune while walking on a treadmill is a challenge. This is a nice, light unit that I bought to use while working out. The tuning is very sensitive and sometimes seems to drift off the station to which I want to listen.

The sound is richer, warmer, and more clear. The bad news:- The headphones are terrible. My previous walking radio (,one quarter the size, ten times the price,) would lose the station if I walked in the 'wrong' direction. I have a plastic bag to protect it from any sudden storms, but it's cheap enough not be a disaster if it gets wrecked. Excellent battery life. Throw them away.Fortunately, the radio is cheap enough that you can add-on a $20 set of earphones, and still end up with a great deal. I use mine while walking.

It's not hi-fi, but it's good enough to enable me to 'lose myself in the music', as I'm not mentally straining some of the time. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the truly awful headphones. The good news:- Bang for your buck, this is the best radio I have ever bought. If you have an old pair around the house, even better. The analogue tuning is easier on my middle-aged eyes and fingers than tiny numbers and bleeping buttons.
